This three-part, one-hour workshop (offered twice per semester) equips students with practical tools for understanding and managing emotions—the good, the bad, and the overwhelming. Using skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), students will explore their natural emotional regulation patterns and learn new techniques for managing emotional responses. Each session will be divided equally between instruction and participatory activities to encourage hands-on learning in a supportive, safe space.

The Wags for Wellness program aims to build community through stress relief activities and raise awareness of mental health and wellness resources on campus. Studies show animals can help relieve anxiety, and just petting a dog or cat can lower your blood pressure. We hope you will come out to pet one of our visiting therapy animals! Therapy Animals are certified assisted therapy animals from the SF SPCA

All participants must follow SF State and SF SPCA COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. In the event of rain, the event may be canceled for the day. Please be sure to check our HPW website and social media for important announcements.
