Student Leader Program

Do you have a passion for health and wellness? Build your professional experience while developing your leadership skills to create positive change at SFSU! 

Be a Student Leader today!  

Gator Health and Well-being (GHW) Student Leader Program is a paid opportunity. Positions are open to currently enrolled SFSU students and are NOT Work-Study jobs. This program provides meaningful professional development training, networking, skill-building, work experience, and health education opportunities for SFSU students. GHW Student Leaders' facilitate workshops, conduct presentations, develop new programs, lead marketing campaigns, and plan health and wellness events.  

Requirements for all positions: 

  • Open to all current Undergraduate & Graduate students 
  • Must be in a good academic standing 
  • Commit to the entire academic year (Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters) 
  • Commit to working up to 15 hours a week ($20.00 per hour) 
  • Available on Wednesdays from 11:00am-1pm for team meetings, events, and professional development workshops 
  • Attend a mandatory orientation on Wednesday, August 19th, 2026 from 9am-3pm 

 

We request that all applicants submit a drafted schedule of their Fall 2026 coursework and extracurricular commitments. Please see the file below for an example.

Gator Health & Well-being Ambassador

HPW Ambassador

The Ambassador Program is a student volunteer program that provides opportunities for SF State students to be involved in health and wellness activities on campus, and requires a minimum of four hours per month for one semester.

Make a Difference with SHAC 

SHAC Students

The Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) is a committee of students, staff, and faculty that advise the University on the delivery of health programs and services on campus with the goal of enhancing student health and wellness. Students make policy recommendations, review and make recommendations on the Student Health Services Fee budget, and recommend policy that promotes equitable and fair access to health programs.
